Los Angeles based jewelry designer Tanaya Henry has created a lot of buzz around early reveals of her Lace by Tanaya “Lip Lace” piece, a unique, removable jewel for the lip that can be adjusted to fit the individual. She announced a couple of days ago that the item is finally ready to order and will go live on her site on Monday April 10, 2017 at 7:00 AM PST.
We chatted with Henry about the item back in January, when she explained the challenges of making the piece adjustable meant it took over a year to engineer. “The way [Lip Lace pieces] are shaped allows them to sit perfectly, which is why we had to adjust the design so many times. We tried it out and took each design for test run, after test run. The back is made so you can bend it slightly to tighten and adjust it as needed,” said Henry.
Because this item sits in one’s mouth, the Lip Lace materials are made of 18k yellow and white gold, and with some of the styles includes use of high quality VS2 diamonds. Prices range from $250 to $1,750.
