Los Angeles-based creative agency Lovemade continues to hold it down for women in Los Angeles, hosting another sold out “Love Made Me Do It” event, rooted in a goal of creating spaces where women can network, have fun and also learn how to advance their personal and professional goals.
The highlight of the evening (after the amazing food, shout out to Tender Greens!) was the panel, which featured Nike senior marketing director Vida Rabizadeh, Tender Greens marketing manager Abbigaile Urioste, leadership coach Angela Aguirre, music and fashion attorney Jamie Baratta and style blogger Aleali May.
Hosted by Lovemade founders Linda Nguyen & Tammy Le, the discussion was focused on how each of the panelists have achieved their own goals and worked through challenges.
A few of the quotes we loved…
“Be clear with who you are & what you want. It’s alright to question. Don’t be afraid to take risks and accept challenges. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and be vulnerable.” Abbigaile Urioste
“You need a protective mechanism for yourself when you open up to the rest of the world. Protect your ideas and the rights to your ideas. In a male dominated industry it’s such an old way of thinking to hope that you can only do one big thing in a lifetime. Try not to stick to that” Jamie Baratta
“I saw that there were girls like me that didn’t have much to work with but we are definitely going to bring the swag.” Aleali May
“I actually started on Tumblr before Instagram. I just posted things I liked. Because I worked at RSVP Gallery. I don’t post for the likes, I post because I like it. You would’ve never scored that amazing meeting if they didn’t like you as you are.” Aleali May
“The force is female. “Everything starts with you. Never look for anything outside of yourself.” Vida Rabizadeh
