Los Angeles-based Dimepiece is here for you if you’re feeling fatigued by the amount of time you spend online interacting with electronic imagery. As a push back on the spaced out anxiety online time creates, the label is offering a spring 2017 collection titled “Get Lost With Me in Joshua Tree,” a reference to Joshua Tree, a desert town in California that once served as a haven for creatives and other outcasts looking to live life more off the grid
In speaking to the phenomenon, the brand recalls simpler times just ten years ago when it first launched. “In 2007 when Dimepiece first began, social network options were limited to MySpace and AOL Instant Messenger, mobile online access was a luxury, and phones were used strictly for calls and texts.
“Now, ten years later, social media options are endless, phones are literally tiny computers with unlimited access to data, and we are constantly exposed to a never-ending stream of notifications and content,” reads press, which goes on to recommend letting it all go: “I order to maintain sanity and regain focus, we must momentarily disconnect from all things digital.”
Items in the collection include bodysuits, caps, fanny packs, visors and bag tags, adorned with logos and phrases like Trust Your Third Eye, Goddess Level, Forget the Past, Fuck With the Future, all written using a psychedelic typeface.
The Joshua Tree collection is now available for purchase on dimepiecela.com.
