For her single “Bedroom,” a tale of a toxic, sex-only relationship, London-based, Polydor-recording artist Mabel McVey shows off sultry dance moves in a visual that intentionally leaves out the problematic love interest.
Taking a new casting direction from previous videos, McVey said she wanted “Bedroom” to be focused on women. “I didn’t want there to be a male love interest as that would be too obvious, and the song is so literal. It has a lot of dark undertones which I thought was an interesting contrast. It felt empowering to have an all-female cast,” McVey told Fader.
Styled by Jeanie Annan-Lewin, Mabel rocked an Emma Brewer faux fur jacket, Ashish sequin pants, and vintage Jean-Paul Gaultier caged top.
