T by Alexander Wang pulls back from the denim looks that dominated last year’s pre-fall collection and focuses instead on trousers, whether pegged or wide-legged, mostly offered in black, the official hue of New York City. The collection also multiple front-tie tops plus two studded boots, one in black and low the other white and high, with both capable of wardrobe staple status.
As always, Wang shows a skill for bring to life the looks that are simmering beneath the surface and about to come to the boil. The only difference now from, say, three years ago is that there are so many more designers vying for a piece of the downtown cool girl vibe (Virgil Abloh springs most prominently to mind).
