In a show of support for tolerance and inclusion, teen mall retailer American Eagle has introduced a denim hijab as part of its fall 2017 denim collection. .
As worn by U.S. model Halima Aden for the chain’s “I Can” denim campaign (directed by Trey Laird agency), the adorable model, still in braces (which are said to be coming off any day now), wrote on Instagram, “Thank you @americaneagle for encouraging young America to follow their passions, express their individuality, and pursue their unique paths.”
The campaign effort includes a multi-cultural roster of models and artists including Brooklyn rapper Joey Badass, NBA player Brandon Ingram and model/activist Iskra Lawrence.
Priced at $19.95 the AEO denim hijab is now available online, along with the description “wear it your way. Make it as original as you are.”
