Kim Kardashian West has always been vocal about wanting a large family, a wish that’s at odds with a potentially life threatening condition called placenta accreta she was diagnosed with during her pregnancies with her four-year-old daughter, North West, and 18-month-old son, Saint West.
Pause: Tbh, Kardashian is so damn snatched right now (see below) one couldn’t blame her if she wanted to avoid going through a pregnancy just because the snatch back game gets harder and harder after every baby. No doubt Kardashian is savvy enough to understand the general public would not accept wanting to maintain a svelte figure as a reason to hire a surrogate.
West has hinted at the idea of a surrogate (Chrissy Teigan even volunteered in November 2016) and now TMZ is reported that she and her husband, Kanye West, not only found a surrogate, she’s already four months along.
Based in San Diego and in her late 20s, the woman has reportedly served as a surrogate before, and even appeared in a promotional video about the process with her own family.
Good surrogates don’t come cheap and the agreed upon price is said to be $45,000 paid in 10 monthly installments. If she’s carrying multiple children, Kardashian and West will pay an additional $5,000 per child. The amount paid to the surrogate doesn’t include the $68,850 paid to the agency who brokered the deal.
Not surprisingly, the contract includes behavior related clauses. According to TMZ, “the surrogate is required to refrain from smoking, drinking and drugs during the pregnancy. She also agrees to restrict sexual activities in the weeks leading up to the pregnancy, including foregoing sexual intercourse for 3 weeks following embryo implantation. The surrogate cannot go in hot tubs or saunas, cannot handle or change cat litter, apply hair dye, drink more than one caffeinated beverage per day or eat raw fish.”
Kardashian and West have not commented on or alluded to the pregnancy.
