In attendance at Christian Siriano’s New York Fashion Week runway presentation, Bronx rapper Cardi B (wearing Christian Seriano) was asked about what rappers she’d like to work with and also which ones are her idols. Very much a rapper on the rise, Cardi wasn’t about to be dragged down by anyone’s beef and on the topic of idols, smartly responded, “I love Lil’ Kim, I love Trina, I like Remy Ma, I love Nicki, I love all of them. Sheesh. I love all of them!”
On meeting Beyoncé last week at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia, Cardi said, “I’m surprised Beyoncé liked me. I met Beyoncé!”
Cardi also reaffirmed she’s dropping a new album in October and said she’s a little nervous about how the project will be received, but mostly feels confident about it.
In the meantime, Cardi’s hit single “Bodak Yellow” has taken over the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, outflanked only by Taylor Swift’s new single “Look What You Made Me Do.”
