Parisian designer Faustine Steinmetz’s spring 2018 runway collection held during London Fashion Week was a deft mash up of streetwear and luxury. While known for denim, which was often ripped, torn and shredded, Steinmetz greatly expanded her repertoire with an array of cotton-themed textiles. Clothing was often called out with her “FS” logo, which was prominently featured on accessories and handbags that called out the all-over logo luxury bags that are currently all the rage.
The runway format was a first for Steinmetz, who has previously shown through a presentation format. London based, Steinmetz is a graduate of London’s Central Saint Martin and founded her line in 2013. She was included on the short list for the prestigious LVMH Prize in 2015.
Current pieces from Faustine Steinmetz are available at Opening Ceremony.
