Throughout this year, Paris-based Colette has partnered with brands on month-long residencies and this week, starting September 4, 2017, marked the start of the boutique’s store take over with Sacai, a Japanese label designed by Chitose Abe.
Titled “Jardin Sacai,” the store and online shop are filled with amazing exclusive items of clothing and accessories, but perhaps the most distinct item is Sacai’s plush-doll collaboration with Japanese label Peloqoon. Designed by Modoka Morikawa, the furry creatures were made using Sacai fabrics.
Colette describes Morikawa as a designer “who makes stuffed toys by hand, that are a bit grotesque looking.” And indeed, one of the dolls has bloodshot eyes, but even more strangely, a portal in the back of its head that contains what looks like brain material, which can be extended from its resting place.
Both are now available at colette.fr.
