Update: “Bodak Yellow” vocal engineer, Michael Ashby has issued an apology on Instagram Live for leaking a video of track, showing an upcoming Cardi B single featuring Beyoncé.
The apology is no longer on stories, but according to thejasminebrand.com, Ashby stated, “Public apology to Beyoncé and all her fans unfortunately hotnewhiphip invaded my privacy. In everything that I post it’s been nothing but encouragement to my small IG following that’s trying to grind like me in this tough business. I cannot turn back the hands of time so at least this is a life lesson I’ve learned on my behalf and all I can do is move forward.”
While Ashby apologized, he hasn’t clarified whether or not the song is happening or for that matter, if it was and is no longer because of his leak. Ashby blamed hotnewhiphop.com for invading his privacy, which couldn’t be more ridiculous given his Instagram page isn’t private.

Cardi B’s engineer, Michael Ashby, has teased what appears to be a Beyoncé feature for Cardi’s upcoming album.
Known for mixing Cardi’s vocals on her smash hit “Bodak Yellow,” Ashby uploaded a series of videos on Instagram Stories showing Cardi in his studio, putting in some late night work presumably on her next album, a project originally slated to drop some time in October 2017.
One of the videos capture a song labeled “Cardi B and Beyoncé demo wet.” In the understatement of the month, Ashby wrote on the video, “Wow this feature is big.”
Cardi and Beyoncé haven’t worked on music together before, but they did meet at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia in September.
There has been considerable push back on the leaked video on social media with some saying a demo doesn’t guarantee Beyoncé’s participation. Others have said that even if there had been plans for a single, it won’t come to fruition because Beyoncé hates leaks.
We have concluded that Cardi and her team is masterful at keeping her name in everybody’s mouth!
