Bay-area rapper Kreayshawn’s announced on Twitter today (Octboer 21, 2017) that she received a call in the wee hours this morning (October 21, 201) from Rolling Loud rap festival organizers with a last-minute request to fill in for rapper PnB Rock.
Presumably Rolling Loud pulled PnB in response to video (below) that emerged yesterday, showing peace-and-love-oriented Lil B being jumped backstage. While roughed up, Lil B still managed to make it on stage, where he told the crowd his performance was cancelled as a result of the beating.
While neither PnB Rock nor Boogie wit da Hoodie have claimed responsibility for the attack, it’s widely assumed their people were responding to a Lil B tweet in which he compared Boogie to Dej Loaf.
In an addition to Kreayshawn, it appears the lineup includes a grand total of two other women, New York rapper Leaf and Atlanta-based Kodie Shane. Despite there being more women rapping than ever before, Rolling Loud since its inception consistently has booked almost entirely male lineups, an issue we wrote about earlier this year.
One can’t help but ponder if Rolling Loud would book a lineup with more women , there wouldn’t be so much testosterone-fulled b.s. backstage.
