As promised, U.K. creative FKA Twigs has released a second edition of AVANTGarden, an online publication she debuted in October 2017.
Titled “Dream Warrior,” the issue No. 2 features a Twigs photoshoot with images overlaid with lines from a poem written by Twigs. Creatively directed by Twigs and edited by Suzannah Pettigrew, photography was handled by David Uzochukwu.
The issue also introduces a range of merchandise including two silk pajama sets and shorts, t-shirts, an eye mask and pins. There are three t-shirts, which are printed with irreverent thoughts including a Twigs tweet from 2014 that reads, “i’ll be down in 5, i am wearing 8 past lives and i smell like jasmine. you can’t miss me.”
“I’ve always worn my mother’s silk PJs on stage from my very first tour, but they wore out so I wanted to make some of my own,” Twigs said in a press release. “I’m also obsessed with sets and bold prints and, through my exploration of mysticism, I created symbols that protect and invite otherworldly creatures to assist those who wear the sets in their everyday lives. More than anything I wanted people who wear the PJs out into the world to know they know that they look the bomb, even in sleepwear, cause that’s just how they roll.”
