K-Swiss and Married to the Mob have revealed plans for a collaborative collection, whose banner item is a pink camo Aero Trainer sneaker retailing at $65.
“I chose pink camo to represent my own little personal and professional battle in dealing with the politics and patriarchy of streetwear,” said McSweeney. “I felt a responsibility to do this as I know conventions such as ComplexCon are so male-driven and dominated. I felt like I had to rep and give these women a platform to be heard.”
Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47 (check out her recent interview with Snobette here) has been tapped as the face of the collection. “Married to the Mob has always been a voice for young girls like me that didn’t follow the trends and enjoyed the unconventional,” said Leikeli. “It’s surreal to have their support, along with K-Swiss.”
The clothing and shoe capsule will be fully revealed in ComplexCon, an event that runs from November 4-5, 2017.
McSweeney and Hot 97 radio host Laura Stylez will both be in attendance at ComplexCon where they will host a live episode of their podcast, “Improper Etiquette,” at the K-Swiss booth.
Following ComplexCon, the collaborative offerings will be available exclusively at Zumiez.
