Following some Twitter drama, Lil Uzi Vert has dropped a remix of “The Way Life Goes” featuring bars from Nicki Minaj. The Queens rapper expressed her appreciation for the song late in August with an Instagram post captioned, “Ummm Uzi better make this a single, send me the beat, and quit playin.”
“The Way Life Goes” is from Uzi’s album Love is Rage 2, released on August 25, 2017. Uzi and Minaj also linked on Meek Mill’s “DC4″ mixtape single “Froze.”
On October 20th, Minaj groused that the single was done but was being held up by people at Atlantic, where Uzi is signed. As it happens, Cardi B is also signed to Atlantic and the rumbling were that that album execs were waiting to release the Uzi remix to provide “Bodak Yellow” with more runway.
