Moscow-rooted punk band collective Pussy Riot has released a video for “Police State,” a visual featuring Chloë Sevigny playing the roll of a demented police officer. A catchy garage rock banger, the Matt Creed-directed visual makes reference to Donald Trump and Vladamir Putin who are shown shaking hands.
Commenting on the visual, group leader Nadya Tolokonnikova told Rolling Stone it was a reflection of a global reality. “Pro-authoritarian trends and autocratic, conservative, right-wing leaders,” she said, are “spreading around the world like a sexually transmitted disease.”
