Bronx natives Jennifer Lopezat and Cardi B first crossed paths not in the borough of their births, but in Brooklyn in October 2017 at a Tidal charity concert at Barclays Center where Cardi performed. We’re guessing the backstage exchange involved music because it appears Cardi will be featured on Lopez’s upcoming Spanish language album, Por Primera Vez.
In an Instagram live video recorded by Lopez’s boyfriend’s Alex Rodriguez, DJ Khaled and Lopez discussed a song that includes a Cardi feature. Lopez asked Khaled if the song should include more ad libs. Khalid advised Lopez to see if Cardi has time in her schedule to go in the studio.
Lopez also discussed filming a video in early January and at the very end of the video Lopez plays a few seconds of the song and it sounds like at least her parts will be sung in Spanish.
Khaled wrote his own Instagram he’s working with Lopez on the album, and while he didn’t say which song he’s producing it seems likely it’s Lopez’s song with Cardi. “I told the icon Jlo that not only do I see her vision. I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to be involved. The key is to express your greatness with clarity and passion,” wrote Khaled.
Lopez has released two singles from the album,”Amor Amor Amor” and “Ni Tú Ni Yo.”
