Established in Stockholm in 1999, Sneakernstuff is opening its first boutique in North America with a location in New York, adding onto locations in Berlin, London and Paris. The space will will house a strong assortment of brands, including heavyweights like Nike, Adidas and Reebok, as well as well-regarded streetwear indies including MadeMe, Reigning Champ and Aries, plus the retailer’s own label, SNS.
There will also be a full bar on the lower level of the space, which is set to open in early 2018.
“New York is the birthplace of SNS,” explained Sneakernstuff co-owner Peter Jansson in a press release. “We actually signed the papers, founding the company on the plane on our way to New York. So it is almost poetic that we now finally get to open in this great city.”
Addressing the importance of creating an attractive space Erik Fagerlind also rehiterates our thoughts that retail is not dying but experiences have to be the focus, “We are sneaker lovers. I think that is why sneaker lovers loves us. And with this new New York store, we will be able to talk to our customers in a physical environment as well, not only through our website. I don’t believe for a minute that retail is dying. It is just transforming, and we have to transform with it. We are focusing on creating experiences for people. Positive experiences. Customers literally have the world in their hands today so you have to give them a very good reason to pick you.”
SneakersnStuff’s New York location opens on December 20, 2017 and is located at 22 Little West 12th Street in the Meat Packing District.
