Chromat‘s fall runway presentation was once again a living and breathing expression of designer Becca McCharen’s belief in joyful celebration of inclusivity and body positivity.
Showing in front of a house that was packed to the rafters, McCharen described the collection as an ode to joy and escapism. “The fall 2018 collection is about trying to find joy and escape within the spiral” wrote McCharen in a press release. “Inspired by summer kayaking trips and personal watercrafts, I imagine wearing the collection while eating flaming hot Cheetos on a boat in the Hudson. We are fitted with bungees, packing for a quick getaway.”
As cast by Gilleon Smith, models included models Emme, Sabina Karlsson and Denise Bidot, actress Carmen Carrera, model and trans advocate Geena Rocero, writer Ericka Hart and artist Viktoria Modesta, among others.
New York-based A-Morir designer Kerin Rose Gold walked the runway and also designed the eyewear worn by the models. Offered in three silhouettes and color coordinated with the brightly-colored collection, the eyewear was detailed with bungee cord croakies.
The show was closed by Filipina-American rapper Slayrizz aka K-Rizz whose performance you can check out below along with all the looks.
