Nike Creates Custom ‘1 Reimagined’ Studio On SoHo First Floor

February 9, 2018. 2 Comments

Nike has given over the entire first floor of its new SoHo store to its “1 Reimagined” effort, a capsule of ten Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 shoes redesigned by a team of 14 women. In addition to the displays of the shoes, the floor also includes mannequins wearing custom version of clothing designed to match up with the artful look and feel of the shoes.

Both the shoes and the clothing are available to purchase at the store. Customers may choose to buy the clothing as is or they can consult with a Nike specialist to customize the garment. Customization options include modifications to the silhouette and the addition of pearl, stud and feather detailing, among other options.

There is an additional cost for custom items, which can be picked up at the store usually within about a week or shipped to the customer.

The “1 Reimagined” studio opened on February 7, 2018, the same day the collection launch. Nike staff didn’t know how long the “1 Reimagined” studio would be open for, but judging by prior custom studios at the SoHo store, it could occupy the space anywhere from two weeks to months, contingent on customer response as well as upcoming events the brand wants to highlight (for example, the NBA All Star game on on February 18th).

The Nike SoHo store is located at 529 Broadway and is open from 10:00 AM EST to 8:00 PM EST.

For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runwa For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runway show and present their collection in a styled lookbook.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
