NYFW Taps Into Power And Beauty Of Women Of Color Creatives

February 13, 2018. Leave a Comment

Labels showing during New York Fashion Week took a different approach to front row guests for fall 2018 presentations, tapping into the power and beauty of women of color creatives. Front rows and parties included a diverse mix of rappers, singers and DJs, all of whom upped the beauty, style and flavor levels of every event they attended.

Yes, mainstays Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid were on the scene but show attendees also included Cardi B (who was seated next to Anna Wintour at Alexander Wang), Kelela, Khelani (who killed it all week), Matte designer Briana Wilson, newly ex Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth, Remy Ma, plus DJs Sita Abellan and Vashite.

Check out all their killer looks below.

When we raised the idea of having a marching band, we wanted the energy, spirit, and sound.I really wanted to reach out and see if there was any possibility that we could make it happen. I am glad that we did.”

The collection was designed and styled by a team of creatives, including Ib Kamara, who was recently appointed Off-White image and art director.
