San Lorenzo, California-based rapper Ruby Ibarra has released a video for “Us,” a women-centric visual appropriately dropped on Women’s Day (March 8, 2018).
Reflecting her heritage, Ibarra spits hard in a mix of English and Filipino dialects (Waray and Tagalog) in a visual that includes traditional Filipino dance performances and costumes. Making a statement about female unity, the video includes appearances by rappers Rocky Rivera, Klassy and Faith Santilla.
“Us” is from her CIRCA91 album, released in October 2017. Ibarra’s single “You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover” was selected for our Snobette Sounds best-of round up in January.
