Tyler the Creator has dropping a visual for “OKRA,” a thumping, bass-heavy and boast-filled rap single he describes as a song he made in January “on some rap shit before tour, just talking.” He decided to create a visual sometime in the past week.
Explaining the song and the visual on Twitter, Tyler wrote in a series of tweets, “hi there, so um ive been super busy its great. isle of dogs was cool sunsets have been nice. i followed my first meme page. i spend alot of time avoiding people and convos now i feel like a small owl. back in jan i made a song on some rap shit before tour just talking. and like 4 5 days ago i was like yo man i should shoot something to this and just put it out for fun and move on with my life or it’ll sit on my hard drive like alot of other things so but uh, so here.”
The video features Tyler rapping, cycling and hanging out and makes the most of Tyler’s appreciation for split screens and spare, color-soaked visuals, a look that’s become a creative signature. In the video, Tyler sports the Golf le Fleur sneakers he made in collaboration with Converse, which sponsored the video.
