Cardi B Album Drops With Features By SZA, Kehlani, Chance And YG

April 6, 2018. 1 Comment

Cardi B has dropped her long-awaited album titled Invasion of Privacy. As promised by Cardi, the album includes some eye-popping surprise features, including Kehlani, SZA, Chance, YG plus Bad Bunny and Balvin.

Kehlani had said in an interview last year they were working on a song togther, but the SZA contribution is very much unexpected. SZA performed “Bodak Yellow” a few times during her “Ctrl” tour last year and Cardi returned the favor with a home grown freestyle of SZA’s “Love Galore” on social media.

No features by Beyoncé, though Cardi does shout her out, along with Rihanna.

Invasion of Privancy kicks off with the very hard-hitting and personal “Get Up 10,” intro/rap laying out the story of Belcalis Almanzar and all the many challenges she’s been up against as the daughter of working class, immigrant parents raised in a hard knock Bronx neighborhood.

While the features are great (especially SZA’s), the surprise break out single is “Thru Your Phone,” a tribute to the heartbreak of having one’s worst instincts confirmed. Cardi both sings and raps on the song.

Throughout the album, Cardi lays out her truth and while she maintains her tough exterior, she also reveals more human/vulnerable sides of her personality. It’s pure Cardi and if you love her, you will love this album.
