MAC Cosmetics Debuts Aaliyah Lipstick, Launching June 20th

April 2, 2018. Leave a Comment

MAC Cosmetics has debuted the first items in its Aaliyah-tribute collection, a nine-shade eye shadow palette and a matte lipstick offered in a brown-mauve shade called Haughton, a reference to the singer’s last name.

MAC Cosmetics first announced the collection in August of 2017.

MAC wrote on Instagram, “Aaliyah super-fans everywhere – YOU made it happen! Inspired by your loyalty and love, the 90s-glam #AaliyahForMAC collection is coming soon! Aaliyah lives on in a makeup collection influenced by her groundbreaking work in music and film”

Not every Aaliyah fan is thrilled by the collection. There are quite a few in MAC’s social media comments, complaining that it’s not right to create a collection Aaliyah has no say over.

The lipsticks will release in North America on June 20, 2018 online and June 21st in stores and will roll out internationally this summer.
