Solange Strikes Stylish Pose In Nike-Themed Corset For Dazed Magazine

April 19, 2018. 1 Comment

Solange Knowles strikes an as-per-usual stylish pose on the cover of Dazed magazine’s spring 2018 issue that includes an editorial shot on location in the lush greenery of Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica.

Saint Elizabeth is a favorite spot for Knowles who took a diary approach to the feature, writing about the Jamaican city, “I’ve spent 2 Christmases, 1 Thanksgiving, 1 breakup, 1 breakdown, and 1 birthday in St Elizabeth. I’ve spent many a day on the beach, just my son and I, both of us reading and running and smiling wide in the sun, tasting the salt in the corners of our mouths.”

For the cover image, Knowles sports a Céline suit with a striking Nike-sneaker corset by Canadian designer Paolina Russo, who’s been mentioned as a muse by John Galliano.

Additional labels in the editorial include Telfar, Y/Project, Gucci, vintage Jean Paul Gaultier, Yuki Haze, Manolo Blahnik, City Hardware, Martine Rose belt, Paco Rabanne, among others.

The shoot was shot by Jackie Nickerson and styled by Katie Shillingford. Solo’s blonde locks were styled by Jawara Hope with make-up by Ren Nobuko.

Look for the issue to hit newsstands on April 19, 2018 and find additional details at dazed.com.

Part of his debut collection with the retailer, the men's "giant fit" chino priced at 89.50 is 100% sold out! Relecting the popularity of the silhouette, the women's wide-leg pleated cargo is also sold out.

With wider fits and chino swinging back into popularity, we can't help but wonder what sneakers and shoes will be coming along for the ride. Any nominations?

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.

Make-up by Raisa Flowers, nails by Dawn Sterling, and photography by Luis Alberto Rodriguez.
In 'Summer Renaissance' from Beyoncé's Renaissanc In 'Summer Renaissance' from Beyoncé's Renaissance album, the lyrics" This Telfar bag imported, Birkins, them shits in storage." Is creating a bit of a stir between the pro and anti Birkin dolls.

After The Cut published a story titled "Our Condolences To The Birkin" the internet got into their feelings.

Tiktoker tastechidera weighs in on the first video, then on the second clarifies her stance as not anti Telfar.

The last video is by stylist Ebony Brown ( TiKTok fashionablyfearless) who does not support owning a Birkin.
