Nike and Kendrick Lamar have another shoe coming, as first revealed in an Instagram post by Dave Free, the president of Lamar’s label, Top Dawg Entertainment. Free was spotted wearing the Kenny 3, a Cortez silhouette featuring a black suede upper as contrasted against a white Swoosh and outsole.
The toe of the shoe is embroidered with the word DAMN, written in Chinese. The heel tab featuree a red loop that coordinates with a red strap along the tongue reading “bet it back.”
In addition to the shoe ($100), there’s a coordinated collection of clothing, all of which will be sold at a series of TDE x Nike pop-up shops planned to open in connection with TDE’s “The Championship” tour, which kicks off on May 4th in Vancouver.
TDE will host a total of 16 pop-up shops and six are planned in collaboration with Nike. The TDE x Nike stores are Livestock in Toronto, Blends in Los Angeles, Concepts in New York, Social Status in Houston, Bodega in Boston and Notre in Chicago.
The first Kenny 1 “DAMN” Cortez was offered in white and dropped on January 26, 2017. There was also a very limited Kenny 2 Cortez pair in red, a local drop sold only in Los Angeles on February 17th.
