After getting demolished in a rap beef by Pusha-T, Toronto rapper Drake brushes off his shoulders, keeps it moving and releases a video for “I’m Upset.” (Because what other options does he have really?)
The clever visual revisits Drake’s entry into the entertainment business as an actor on “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” a series he appeared on from 2001 until 2007 when his character graduated from high school. Drake played the role of Jimmy Brooks, a basketball player who is shot and becomes physically disabled as a result,
The video includes appearances by Degrassi cast members including Ephraim Ellis (Rick Murray), Nina Dobrev (Mia Jones), Lauren Collins (Paige Brooks), Shane Kippel (Gavin “Spinner” Mason), Stefan Brogran (Archie “Snake” Simpson), among others. The video also include a cameo by Kevin Smith characters Jay and Silent Bob aka Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith.
While the visual contains a cutting commentary on school shootings, overall it’s a video that will provide Drake’s fans with a feel-good moment as they do their best to sort through their feels over his recent rap battle take down.
