Multi-hyphenate creative A$AP Rocky checked in with “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” yesterday (August 3, 2018), where he discussed his latest album, Testing, his creative collective AWGE and his thoughts on mumble rappers. Wearing a bright yellow kerchief and sunglasses, Rocky also revealed his sneaker with Under Armour will be released in September 2018.
“I think everything is just a big melting pot, especially America, right? It’s hard to identify anyone’s region from the way they rap,” said Rocky said in response to Noah’s question on what distinguishes New York rap from other cities. On mumble rap, Rocky says it’s over saturated, but here are still some artists he appreciates and mentioned Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti.
Rocky closed out the interview by gifting Noah with a pair of the sneakers he made with Under Armour. Rocky first unveiled the sneaker during a performance art piece titled”Lab Rat,” which took place at Sotheby’s in New York in May 2018.
