Today (August 20, 2018) Cardi B‘s “Ring” video featuring Kehlani was released. The visual shows Kehlani and a then pregnant Cardi lamenting the loss of a lover’s attention.
While Cardi had promised the video was coming, she jumped on Instagram to let it be known her label, Atlantic Records, had neither given her final approval of the visual nor informed her the video was dropping.
On Instagram, Cardi B carped, “Alright guys, so I’m a little pissed because I woke up this morning and I got on Instagram and ‘What’s going on today?’ and when get on Instagram, I see the ‘Ring’ video come out. And you know, I’m happy for the response that it’s getting, but it’s just like, I didn’t even get to see final edits for the video. I didn’t even know that it was supposed to even come out today. Like damn, like y’all should let me know so I can announce it and promote it. Let my fans know. I don’t even know if it’s on YouTube to go look at. Fuck it, ya know what I’m saying. I hope you all enjoy it, I guess. Thank you! The ‘Ring’ video is out with Kehlani!”
Cardi being Cardi, naturally she ended on a lighter note by adding, “Motherfuckers, sneaky motherfuckers. Who did that? It was those Russians, those damn Russians who helped Trump.”
