IKEA is looking to the past to celebrate its 75th anniversary with a furniture series that celebrates some of its most popular designs from within three different decades. Titled “Gratulera,” the series will highlight popular items from the ’50s-60s, ’70s-80s and and ’90s-’00s.
Each series will include a complete range of furniture, lighting and tableware pieces, all of which speak to distinct design elements the period was known for.
“Each launch is different to the other, signifying its time period; from dark woods with a classic expression, to a very playful style with strong colors and then to a more natural look with Scandinavian woods and graphic colors,” IKEA creative leader Karin Gustavsson explained in a press release.
The ’50-’60s collection will launch in August, ’70-’80s items in October; and ’90s-00s in December. Items will be limited in quantity and should sell out very quickly. For more info, visit ikea.com.
