Adidas and longtime collaborator Stella McCartney have combined forces on a vegan version of the Stan Smith. While the song remains largely the same, some of the details have been changed. Most notably, the line of perforated dots that create the shoe’s three stripes have been swapped out for perforated stars. As well, the heel features a blue and burgundy stripe while the tongue is printed with McCartney’s portrait on the left shoe and Stan the man’s on the right shoe.
Given the 13 years these two labels have worked together combined with McCartney’s commitment to cruelty free production, perhaps the only surprising aspect of this effort is that it didn’t happen sooner!
Priced at $325, the shoe is available for pre-order in men’s and women’s sizing on stellamccartney.com on September 5, 2018. On September 10th, they will launch at McCartney’s 929 Madison Avenue store and in Nordstrom stores.
