If ever there were a son of the dad shoe, it would be Nike’s Shox silhouette, a sneaker marked by its spring-filled heel that first launched in 2000 and went on to because a massively popular silhouette.
As part of its spring 2018 runway in Paris, Comme Des Garçons provided a high fashion makeover of the Shox, showing the shoe in white and black patent, both of which featured a Comme Des Garçons i.d. chain that runs along the top side of the shoe through the spacing of the springs (not unlike Gucci’s famed SEGA shoe!).
Commes des Garcon has partnered with Nike on shoes for the past two seasons (spring 2018 and fall 2018). While the shoes do hit retail, they’re usually available in store at Dover Street Market and other retailers with an established relationship with the brand.
