nicki queen radio

September 11, 2018. 2 Comments

Nicki Minaj used her “Queen Radio” platform hosted on Beats 1 to respond to the Cardi B dust up that took place at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan on September 6, 2018.

The show was co-hosted by DJ Funk Flex and started with a call from Tekashi 6ix 9ine, who on a flight to Colombia. Minaj was also joined by Brooke Bailey and rapper and friend Rah Ali, who was at the ICONS event with Minaj when the fight went down. During the second half of the show, Lil Uzi Vert also called in.

In the video, Minaj spoke at length about the event at the ICON party that lead to Cardi being removed by security. Minaj stated, “The other night I was a part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of bunch of upper echelon, and it’s not about white or black, it’s about upper echelon people who are you know people who have their lives together, the way they pass by looking at this disgusting commotion I will never forget. I was mortified. I was in Alexandre Vauthier gown, okay, off the motherfucking runway, okay, and I could not believe how humiliated it all felt because we, and I use we loosely and Imma clarify how we made ourselves look and I’m going to get back but before I go I want to say I would never discuss anyone’s child and it’s so sad for someone to pin that on me because I’m the bad guy and they know people would believe them.”

Minaj also insisted she has never spoken ill of Cardi’s daughter, Kulture, “So let me just go on record having said I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting I don’t care about anyone’s parenting. I don’t give a shit, and it’s so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy. If you’re right in whatever you’re doing, you don’t ever have to make someone into the bad guy. Just speak your truth. When you have to say that I said or did something that you know I’ve never said or did…I just want to let the world know that Onika Tanya Maraj, would never, has never and will never speak ill of anyone’s child. I am not a clown. That’s clown shit. And the other thing that’s clown shit is telling the world that someone said something just so that you don’t feel fucking dumb for looking dumb for doing dumb shit.

“You knew that when that footage came out, you was about to look fucking dumb. So your publicist who also looked fucking dumb standing there about to tape, thinking someone was about to get snuffed or something with the phone camera out…so they hurried up and put out a statement and you know what? I’m such a ill ass bitch I didn’t even feel the need to defend myself that night and say I didn’t say this, I didn’t do this, I didn’t stop no bags.”

For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runwa For fall winter 2025 KNWLS opted to forego a runway show and present their collection in a styled lookbook.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
