New York designer Sandy Liang enlisted family for her New York Fashion Week presentation, held yesterday (September 9, 2018) held inside her father’s restaurant, Congee Village, a Chinese restaurant in the Lower East Side. Playing up the moment, guests were treated to fried rice served with tea and lemonade, along with a menu illustrated with lookbook images.
The location for the presentation very much informed the collection, which exuded the low-key, cool girl vibes the neighborhood has always been known for. Using a light touch, Liang took of-the-moment silhouettes like a fleece jacket, slip dress and track shorts and created a downtown sensibility through lace details, graphics and color combinations.
In a nod to the logo trend, the collection also included the introduction of some Sandy Liang-branded items.
