Bronx-born rapper Cardi B turned herself into the police today (October 1, 2018) in relation to a brawl that took place at Angels Strip Club in Queens on August 29, 2018. According to TMZ, she has been charged with two misdemeanors: reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Cardi wasn’t arrested, but rather received a summons to appear in court.
Cardi allegedly encouraged her crew to throw bottles, chairs and a hookah at two of the club’s bartenders, sisters Jade and Baddie Gi, one of which she believed was sleeping with her husband, Offset.
The drama between Cardi and the two women isn’t new. When the news of the fight broke in August, TMZ reported Jade was alleging Cardi had been threatening her with violence on Instagram for months. In June, Jade and Baddie Gi ran into Cardi at an Atlanta hotel, where Jade says Cardi threatened them both with physical harm. Both have denied sleeping with Offset.
The 25-year-old Cardi also got into a scuffle and war of words with Nicki Minaj at Bazaar’s New York Fashion Week ICON party on September 7th that led to her being removed from the event with a giant knot over her left eye.
Cardi performed on September 29th at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park in New York where she made an impassioned plea for people to vote in the November midterms. In an Instagram image she posted after she performed, the caption reads: “MOST HATED BITCH ON THE PLANET.”
