October 23, 2018 update: Cuban Doll on Instagram live said she didn’t cut Rocky Badd. She added that Rocky may have “had her stomach cut open” due to liver failure from drinking too much, which frankly sounds ridiculous. Rocky responded on Instagram Live and said the claim she drinks too much is a lie. She also noted she was able to go home after a week in the hospital.
October 22, 2018 update: Cuban Doll on Instagram Live said she was not dropped by her label. She wrote, “I didn’t get dropped by any label. I wish. I’ve been tryna get released maybe y’all helping me out #FreeCuban #FreeMymusic.” This directly contradicts an Instagram live session on which she said she had been dropped by her label and was a free agent.
October 20, 2018 update: Detroit rapper Rocky Badd has published a video and multiple photographs (below) of herself in the hospital where she landed after being attacked by a crew allegedly led by Cuban Doll.
One of the images reveals a slash the length of her abdomen held together by surgical staples. Rocky hasn’t said whether the wound was inflicted during the fight or came about because of surgery. In the caption, Rocky wrote, “They Tried To Kill Me ♀ I Got To Walk Away With This & a Few Lil Scars ♀ I Fought For My LIFE. Y’all Can Keep That Weak Ass Chain I Was Expecting To Be Jumped By Two Bitches But Everybody Don’t Play Shit The Way They Make It Seem. I Got In That Cage Cus After Too Many Guns Got Pointed In My Face Shit ♀ What Can You Do ? But Believe The Shit Y’all Want. Everybody In That Building They Locked Me In KNOW , I Didn’t Go Down That Easy. And Truthfully I Only Slowed Up Cus The MORE I Fought Back The MORE Hoe Shit NIGGAS Did To Me. Dallas-born rapper Cuban Doll went on Instagram live yesterday (October 15, 2018) and announced she’s been dropped by Capitol Music Group, with whom she claimed she signed a million-dollar deal in April 2018. Cuban allegedly was released by the label following an incident with Detroit rapper Rocky Badd who was allegedly beaten, robbed of her chain and put in a dog cage by associates of Cuban including Los Angeles-based rapper Stunna Girl.
Details are sketchy at best, but sometime on either October 13th or 14th, Rocky traveled to Los Angeles to perform at an event, which in fact was a set up for a beat down and robbery allegedly organized by Cuban.
Badd and her manager, Lando Bando, were both attacked and yesterday Bando uploaded an image of his badly bruised face to his Instagram account. Shockingly, during the incident Rocky was placed in a cage and photographed, an image that was first published on @theshaderoomteens. Rocky was wearing a THHL chain, an acronym for Bando’s company, The Hip Hop Lab. In a screenshot, Cuban bragged she personally took the chain from Rocky.
In a since deleted Instagram post, @cameraman.313 wrote, “Pray for Rocky B. She was set up. They booked her for a fake event. walked her into an alley and Abducted her, pistol whipped her and beat her. They also robbed her & took her chain. All over some rap beef. They had MEN do this to her in cali.”
The attack was said to be retaliation for Rocky making fun of Cuban when she was badly beaten by her now ex boyfriend, rapper Tadoe, in May 2018. However, prior to the Tadoe comments, both Cuban and Rocky were in a physical altercation (which Rocky claimed she won) in January 2018 and shortly thereafter Cuban and Rocky both dropped diss tracks targeting each other.
Even before the fight and diss tracks, Rocky and Cuban were sniping with each other in an ever shifting web of alliances that included Asian Doll, Molly Brazy and Stunna Girl.
Rocky confirmed she had been jumped on Instagram, where she wrote, “Yall won for now. Even tho [expletive] Set Me Up, I’ll take it as A L. I knew better anyways.” Addressing rumors the fight was a one-on-one with Cuban, Rocky wrote, “My chain broke from fighting MULTIPLE PPL. AINT NOBODY JUST SNATCH MY SHIT. & It’s not like THE FEMALES did all the damage Fr.”
On Instagram live, Cuban claimed she was happy she was dropped by Capitol, but also noted she had been mislead about the deal. Cuban stated, “I really appreciate y’all who was tagging [Capitol] and stuff ’cause they don’t want these gangster bitch problems, might as well just drop her. I’m a free agent, ya heard?!”
She then added, “I had called their phone and mother[expletive]s didn’t answer so. I was trying to get out of the situation and they was [unintelligible] like I was still in the situation. I’m just gonna air this shit out since they don’t want to answer the phone and shit. Mother[expetive]s want to unfollow and shit. They want to act like I was dropped from the label–no, I was lied to about the position they played anyways at the label so yea, that’s what that was.”
As of now, Cuban is still listed as a an artist on the website for Motown Records, which falls under the Capitol umbrella.
