Chicago rapper Noname announced today (October 15, 2018) she plans to change the art for her just-dropped album Room 25 because it features work by Bryant Giles who was arrested in Chicago on October 8th and charged with domestic battery/bodily harm of his girlfriend.
The Noname announcement followed a lengthy Instagram post by @martinscorsexy who described Giles as a former friend. She went on to detail what she alleges is the abusive behavior that led to his arrest. She noted Giles is currently free on bail.
Check out the statement from Noname and the original album art below.
In light of recent allegations, I will be working to replace the cover artwork of Room 25. I do not and will not support abusers, and I will always stand up for victims and believe their stories. My heart goes out to Ellie, her family, and all survivors of abuse.
