Bronx rapper Cardi B makes a big statement with the Jora Frantzis-directed “Money,” an opulent visual celebrating all the trappings of an in-your-face wealthy lifestyle. While many rappers and artist have included strippers in their videos, for Cardi the presence of pole workers reflects a much more personal statement given it was a key part of her scrappy come up story. The 25-year also made sure to bring it all back to her daughter, Kulture, with multiple shots of her literally dripping while breastfeeding.
The video features seven different looks, all styled by Cardi’s long-time stylist Kollin Carter. Designers include Gareth Pugh, Laurel DeWitt, Christian Cowen, Bryan Hearns, Ashi Studio, Robert Won, Dare to Be Vintage, Sarah Sokol Millinery and Taro Hanabusa.
The video is a fitting end cap to her incredible 2018, which includes not only five Grammy nominations, but news today that her entire Invasion of Privacy album has been certified gold by the RIAA, a first-time feat for a female rapper.
