Air Jordan has linked with Aleali May and NBA player Maya Moore on a dual drop featuring a pair of jewel-toned Js.
May worked off of a Retro 1 silhouette to create the Jordan 1 Court Lux OG, a six-color suede shoe featuring a removable fur tongue and black laces.
In an interview with Coveteur, May explained the evolution of the fur detail. “In the first sample you weren’t able to take it off,” she said, “but I wanted to give an option because the color is already a lot. So if a girl wanted to just wear the color without the fur or she wanted to add the fur one day, it will give you two different looks in one.”
Moore took inspiration from the uniforms she has worn throughout her career to build the Jordan 10 Court Lux. Detailed with Moore’s logo and favorite bible verse, the suede shoe features four colors and black laces.
Moore explained, “A little piece of me is on the back pull tab, it’s my favorite bible verse. I leave the bible verse Colossians 3:23 at the end of my autographs. It’s a verse that’s a reminder of my motivation, that I’m doing everything ultimately and unto the Lord, and it just keeps me grounded, keeps me focused, keeps me motivated and I love sharing that with people.”
May’s Jordan 1 (style code BV2613-600) and Moore’s Jordan 10 (style code: CD9705-406) will release on December 15, 2018 in select retailers globally and December 22nd in select North America retailers
