Coachella today (January 3, 2019) announced it’s 2019 lineup, revealing Ariana Grande, Tame Impala and Childish Gambino as headliners at the event. The concert takes place in which takes place on April 12-14 and 19-21, 2019.
Grande is the youngest woman to ever headline the Goldenvoice-produced event and second in the festival’s history, following Beyoncé’s widely-lauded performance in 2018.
There are plenty of additional women slated to appear, including Tierra Whack, Rico Nasty, Ella Mai, Lizzo, Billie Eilish and H.E.R., among others.
Kanye West was set to headline the event, but pulled out in a dispute over the stage setup. According to TMZ, West wanted to alter the stage set up and when Coachella wouldn’t budge on its 40-foot-by-60-foot stage set up for headliners, West dropped out.
Among DJs, Virgil Abloh is slated to appear, as is British actor Idris Elba, who will perform under the stage name DJ Big Driis.
Passes for the event go on sale on January 4th at 11:00 AM PST at coachella.com/passes.
