Brooklyn-based artist KAWS celebrates his biggest installation to date, a 118-foot-long blow-up Companion. The giant, seated Companion will be officially launched in at Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan from January 19-27, 2019.
In advance of the event KAWS shared a test of the blow up. On Instagram, he wrote, “Ok, so it’s a little hard to do a test inflation without someone leaking images so I guess I’ll post this one as well… Sorry whoever’s parking lot we blocked again, this is not the final location.”
The installation will commemorated with a capsule of Companion-related merch. Priced from $50 to $199, items include vinyl version of the blow-up Companion, ceramic plates, t-shirts, and tote bags featuring a Taiwanese steamed bun called xiaolongbao.
Merchandise will be available at the Juice store, starting January 19th. The range will also be stocked on juicestore.com.
