Kehlani today (January 10, 2019) released a visual for new single “Nights Like This,” a song that features Ty Dolla $ign. In the video, Kehlani takes on the repairs of a broken android (played by Tari Elegele) discovered on her doorstep. And because no good deed goes unpunished, the effort to fix the android does’t go exactly as planned.
On Twitter, Kehlani explained, “found her on my porch.. she needed help.. i’m 2 nice. brought her 2 da lab.. after fixing her, i introduce her to being human. she realizes i have a soul and she doesn’t. she BIG MAD. decides to steal my humanity. doesn’t want Ty to snitch.. kills him too. fuck these bot-ches.”
The track is from an upcoming mixtape that is planned for a February 2019, or at least that’s what Kehlani told Zane Lowe in a recent Beats 1 interview, which is now available on Apple Music.
While Kehlani is now in her third trimester (in October 2018 she announced she was four-months pregnant), the video was shot six months ago. She was pregnant at the time though the news wasn’t yet public.
