Minneapolis-based singer/rapper Lizzo today (January 4, 2018) dropped a visual for “Juice,” a groovy dance single that taps into a retro ’80s funk vibe. Directed by Quinn Flynn, the video plays up the single’s sound with lo-fi shots of Lizzo working out in Jane-Fonda-esque activewear (complete with Reebok kicks), making a visit to a throwback talk show set and hanging out with her man while checking out 1-800 ads (which she and model Shaun Ross host) on an old-school TV.
While the visit is mainly a nostalgic celebration, Lizzo stay present with an ASMR reference and a battle with her boo over cell phone texts.
Along with the video, Lizzo has launched a blameitonthejuice.com animated website that includes links to all her videos.
Lizzo recently faced some fan push back for allowing her song “Worship” to be featured in a Weight Watchers ad. You can check out her response to the controversy here.
