Atlanta-based rapper Yung Baby Tate today (January 15, 2019) dropped “Pretty Girl Remix,” a single first released in summer 2018 that’s be remixed with features by fellow Atlanta rappers Miss Mulatto and Killumantii. Lyrics advocate for loving oneself and brushing off the doubters and naysayers. The song will be on Tate’s forthcoming album, GIRLS, which is set to drop in February 2019.
In discussing her inspiration for the song, Tate told Fader, “When I originally made the beat for ‘Pretty Girl,’ I was inspired by some of the Atlanta classics I grew up with like ‘Laffy Taffy’ and ‘Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It.’ I wanted this record to feel that way, too, but to also have a powerful message for the girls.”
On her upcoming project, she added, “GIRLS is a conversation about women and how dope we are. Expect to be reminded that you are that girl every morning. Expect bops. Expect to dance. Expect to love yourself and the women around you a little bit more.”
