New York-based Chromat as designed by Becca McCharen-Tran presented during New York Fashion Week on Friday (February 8, 2019) and showed a collection titled “Climatic.” The color-soaked collection was inspired by Miami, where the brand has established a second design studio. More than just a tribute to the beauty of the Miami, the collection drew attention to the dangers the city is facing because of global warming.
In an effort to reign in waste, all the designs were made with sustainable fabric that uses regnerated nylon spun from fishing nets recovered from the world’s oceans. As well, Chromat uses up-cycled fabrics and works with safe, ethical, fair-wage factories.
In addition to Sorel footwear, the collection also included a Reebok collaboration. Eyewear was provided by Coco & Breezy.
