While Remy Ma aka Reminisce Mackie and Nicki Minaj‘s relationship ever since “shETHER” is very frosty with a side of ice, that didn’t stop Remy from speaking out against BET’s decision to publish an article pitting Minaj against Cardi B the morning after the Grammy Awards.
On the latest Revolt TV “State of the Culture,” episode that aired yesterday (February 18, 2019), co-host Remy addressed BET’s decision to run a since-deleted story and tweet that celebrated Cardi’s first Grammy Award while at the same time made fun of Minaj for having never won a Grammy.
Said Remy, “BET is supposed to be Black Entertainment. Why would y’all do that? Why would y’all be pitting two against each other? How can you congratulate one, because that’s what it was, it was a congratulations to Cardi for winning, and in your next breath you downgrade someone else.
She viewed the move as especially stupid because Minaj at the time was scheduled to perform at a BET concert. Explained Remy, “Someone you have slated to perform at one of your shows. That was just a stupid business move.”
Not long after the story went live, Nicki Minaj announced she and Lil Wayne had canceled their planned appearance at the BET Experience concert planned for June 20-23.
Remy also weighed in on the dynamic between Nicki and Cardi and how the industry feeds into their conflict.
