Los Angeles-based Billie Eilish checked in with Complex and Joe La Puma’s “Sneaker Shopping” series with and did some sneaker shopping at Stadium Goods in New York.
Notably, the interview included news that Eilish with Tekashi Murakami is working on a Jordan shoe for women. Eilish first became acquainted with Murakami when he art directed her January 2019 cover for Garage magazine, which make a reference to an upcoming collaboration dropping in the spring.
When asked about the rumor of a shoe, Eilish stated, “Like Tekashi Murakami, what? It’s insane to think about it because I mean, like I said, I grew up not able to afford it and now I’m working with the people who created it.”
Known for her cozy fits, Eilish reveals she’s a big fan of chunky sneakers (in men’s sizing only) and said she became a fan of Jordan sneakers after listening to Riff Raff’s 2014 single “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz.”
As what Jordan silhouette she might work off of, Eilish says she likes “challenging” silhouettes and listed the Jordan Legacy 312 x Don C, Jordan 15 and 19 as all shoes she’s a big fan of despite their many detractors.
Eilish closed out the show with the purchase of three shoes: Nike Air Force 1 Low x Off-White ($449), Nike Blazer Mid x Off-White ($745) and Nike Hyperdunk ($1000).
