In the world of women’s footwear, two silhouettes remain ever controversial: the high heel sneaker and its sister-shoe, the wedge sneaker. While there have been relatively well-received versions of both shoes, the silhouettes remain polarizing with many holding on to the view that shoes are shoes and sneaker are sneakers and never the twain shall meet!
Reflecting the track and field theme of Off-White‘s spring 2019 collection, it was only fitting the label included a shoe uniting fashion and sport. The result is the “Runner Heel, a study in contrasts that is half high-heel strappy sandal and half sneaker. Details include a delicate chain clasp at the ankle contrasted by a sneaker upper overlay that includes athletic laces detailed with a “SHOELACES” graphics.
