Kanye West has been winning back fans as of late through clips of “Sunday Service” performances, gospel-inspired concerts held in the backyard of his Calabasas, Calfornia, home. As led by West, the full choir, dressed in traditional white robes, has performed new material as well as popular songs.
Until now, “Sunday Service” performances have been limited to short video clips leaked on social media. Now the group is scheduled to make its first official appearance with news that West will bring “Sunday Service” to Coachella where the group will take the stage on the second weekend (on Easter Sunday) at 9:00 AM PST.
The 41-year-old West was originally scheduled to perform as a Coachella headliner, but dropped out days before the official line up was announced in early January because of a impasse over the stage set up.
Coachella 2019 takes place in Palm Springs, California, over two weekends: April 12-14 and April 19-21. This year’s headliners are Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.
